In this course students are taught the following species of fruit-bearing deciduous trees: apple trees (apple, pear, quince), stone fruit trees (peach-nectarine, apricot, cherry, cherry, plum, almond). On completion of the course, students will have acquired knowledge of the soil and climatic requirements of all the above mentioned fruit tree species, the available varieties and the specific requirements of each variety, the available rootstocks with their specific characteristics, fruit formation and pruning schemes, specialised techniques and cultivation methods required for each of the above crops.
