The Department Assembly assigns the duties of Academic Advisor to all faculty members, randomly and equally distributing the number of first-year students among the faculty members of the Department at the beginning of the fall semester of each academic year. A student's Academic Advisor remains the same until the student's graduation.

α) The Academic Advisors provide advice and support through meetings, in particular to first-year students in order to facilitate their transition from secondary to higher education. The mission of the Academic Advisers is to inform, inform and advise students on matters relating to their studies and their careers after graduation. In addition, Academic Advisors strive to provide supportive care for students who are experiencing serious family, personal or other difficulties that prevent them from successfully completing their studies. In all cases the role of the Academic Advisors is supportive and involves suggesting solutions to the student to any problems he/she may be facing, and in no way can they guarantee a solution to every problem in advance.

b) The President of the Department cooperates with the Academic Advisors in their work and takes into account their comments, suggestions, recommendations and requests.

c) In case of absence of an Academic Advisor for a long period of time (e.g. due to educational leave, health problem, etc.), the Secretariat of the Department assigns the students of the absent Advisor to a new Academic Advisor, always taking into account the equal distribution of these students among the other Advisors.

d) In exceptional cases and if there are serious reasons, a student may request the change of his/her Academic Advisor. A student who wishes to do so must submit a request to the Department's Secretariat stating the reasons. The possibility of satisfying the student's request is examined by the Department Assembly, which decides on the change of the Academic Advisor by a majority equal to or greater than 3/4 of the members of the Assembly.

ε) The Academic Advisors may inform the Assembly of the Department about their work, their activity and propose measures to address any dysfunctions they have identified.
