Welcome Message from the Chair
Dear students,
On behalf of the faculty and staff, we welcome you to the Department of Agriculture at the University of the Peloponnese.
Thank you for choosing to study in our Department, and we are committed to providing you with a high-quality education through a well-designed curriculum that incorporates modern and innovative technologies, enabling graduates to achieve a more comprehensive education and faster professional integration.
The Department of Agriculture offers a well-structured five-year undergraduate program that has been accredited by the Supreme Council of the National Authority for Higher Education (ETHAAE) and leads to the award of a single, uninterrupted master’s degree (integrated master) (Government Gazette 1951, 03/04/2026) in the Department’s specialization, and the degree corresponds to Level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework in accordance with Article 47 of Law 4763/2020 (A’ 254).
The Department also offers master’s and doctoral programs, conducts applied and basic research in the broader field of Agricultural Sciences, and promotes scientific knowledge and support for the rural economy.
We hope that your academic journey, beginning in the city of Kalamata, will be interesting, enjoyable, and creative, and that it will serve as a stepping stone to a successful professional career.
INFORMATION
The Department of Agriculture, based in Kalamata, is a modern academic center that promotes academic knowledge, scientific research, and application in fields related to Agricultural Science. The Department offers a well-structured five-year undergraduate program leading to the award of a single, integrated master’s degree (integrated master’s) (Government Gazette 1951, 03/04/2026) in the Department’s specialization, and the degree corresponds to Level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework in accordance with Article 47 of Law 4763/2020 (A’ 254) and provides students with comprehensive scientific knowledge, while contributing to the economic and social development of the Greek rural sector through the scientific fields it addresses.
The Department offers a curriculum that incorporates all the latest developments in agricultural science (state-of-the-art), with a particular emphasis on agricultural production, such as sustainable crop management (crop rotation systems, organic farming, certified production, rational use of fertilizers, integrated pest and disease management.
